Nancy Ann (Ferrand) Branigin

Nancy Branigin entered this world on May 22, 1947, at the Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, IN to the late Rosalie Bell (Johnson) Ferrand and Willian Isaac Ferrand, Sr.; and at the age of 78, she was called by her Heavenly Father on September 17, 2025, after battling cancer for many years. 

Nancy graduated from Mt. Vernon High School in 1965 and married the love of her life David Branigin on June 19, 1965.

Nancy’s greatest joy was being able to create special greeting cards, gift boxes and anything you could make with paper or card stock.  Many of the precious moments that Nancy and her husband had together were planning sleepovers, parties and what their grandchildren called adventures. Some of the adventures include trips to New York, Washington D.C., Philadelphia, Smokey Mountains, Williamsburg and a dude ranch in Arkansas.  A few of the jobs that Nancy held was a Customer Service Representative for the United Telephone Company, Administrative Assistant for the Fortville Christian Church and Assistant Manager for Carol Yeley’s Hallmark store in Fortville.

Nancy is survived by her husband David Branigin of 60 years; son Michael (Lesa) Branigin; grandchildren Nicholas (Courtney) Branigin, Alexander Branigin, Elizabeth Doty, Aaron Doty and Marcia Dawn Rolfingsmeyer; nieces Katie Ferrand, Amy (Tom) Cormican and Heather (Brad) Dawson; nephew Paul Ferrand; several great nieces and great nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Angela (Craig) Doty, brothers William Isaac Ferrand, Jr., Robert Ferrand, sister Shirley Young and nieces Jolesa May Ferrand and Sarah Young and nephew Chuck Ferrand.

A funeral to celebrate Nancy’s life will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at Seals Funeral Home, Fortville. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 11:00 am until the time of service. Burial will follow the service at the Gravel Lawn Cemetery, Fortville.
