Odis Jewel Denny

Odis Jewel Denny, 89, of Fortville, passed away at home on January 17, 2025. He was born on January 22, 1935, in Russell County, Kentucky to Otha and Clara (Hurd) Denny.

Odis was a member of Sunnyside Road Baptist Church where he greatly enjoyed his small group community. He worked for Kroger in the bakery department from 1958 until his retirement in 1997. Odis enjoyed going out to eat and spending time with friends and family.

Odis is survived by his children Sherry (Bill Lindamood) Denny and David (Rhonda) Denny; 6 grandchildren Seth, Gabe, Jessica, and Katie; 4 great-grandchildren Destiny, Isaiah, Braxton, and Abby; and his sister Aleane Apple. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Doris P. (Porter) Denny who passed away on December 24, 2022; his parents; son Timothy Denny; great-grandson Brandon; and his siblings Imogene Roach and Randy Denny.

Friends may call on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at Seals Funeral Home, 122 W. Staat St., Fortville, IN 46040, from 11 am until 1 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at 1 pm and he will be laid to rest beside his wife and son at Park Cemetery in Greenfield immediately following the service.
