Oneil Smith

Oneil Smith, 80, of Fortville, passed away Monday, October 19, 2020 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born January 4, 1940 in Hazard, Kentucky to the late Charlie and Mary (Trent) Smith.

Oneil was a member of the Teamsters Local #135 and the Indiana National Guard Reserves. He retired in 1998 from the Indiana Naval Stores after over 30 years of service.

Oneil is survived by his sons: Michael (Tammy) Smith of Greenfield and Kenny (Melanie) Smith of Anderson; grandchildren: Corey (Jenna) Smith, Kaytlin (Travis) Tyler, Kelaney, and Hannah Smith; great-grandchildren: Reed and Wade Tyler and Laynie and Ellison Smith; brother Harold (Doreen) Smith, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife Clara Smith, daughter Patricia Lynn Smith, and sister Garnet McPherson.

A service to celebrate Oneil’s life will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, October 26, 2020 at Seals Funeral Home in Fortville. Family and friends may call or visit the funeral home on Monday, October 26, 2020 from 11:00 am until the time of service. Burial will take place at Gravel Lawn Cemetery in Fortville.
