Phillip Ray Bailey

Phillip Ray Bailey, 68, of Austin, TX passed away on July 29th, 2026, after a long battle with heart failure. He was born on June 13th, 1958, in Indianapolis to Charles and Nancy (LaRue) Bailey.

Growing up in Fortville, Indiana, Phil spent his childhood playing baseball, basketball and football with his brother Robert, often coached by their father Charles.

Phil moved to Houston in his 20’s, and then Boston in his early 30’s where he met his wife Tami and built a successful career in commercial property management and telecom at Partners Healthcare, Equity Office Properties, and Global Tower Partners. Phil’s work took him around the country every month, and he loved traveling, meeting new people, and holding court at a nice hotel bar. Phil loved nothing more than coaching Jake and Cooper’s baseball teams, and imparting life lessons on the field.

He is survived by his wife Tami DiSalvo, son Jake Bailey and wife Lisa Bechtold-Scott, son Cooper Bailey and wife Hannon Bailey; his nephews and their wives, Jonathon and Ashley Bailey, and Eric and Kathryn Bailey; his aunts, Jan Bailey, Sandy Hudson, Yvonne Frederick, and many extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Robert Bailey.

A Memorial Service for Phil will be held on Saturday, August 29th, 2026, at 1:00 pm at Seals Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 122 W. Staat Street, Fortville, IN 46040, with visitation prior to the service beginning at 12:00 pm. Burial of his cremated remains will take place at Gravel Lawn Cemetery in Fortville.
