Phyllis C. (Craig) Hammonds

Phyllis Craig Hammonds, 82, of Ingalls, Indiana, passed away March 11, 2022, surrounded by her family. She was born March 27, 1939, in Nicholas, Kentucky to Shyrl and Mary Elizabeth (Sallee) Craig. Phyllis married Morris Eugene Hammonds in 1964.

Phyllis worked at a receptionist for Pesco Pest Control and was a former member of Faith UMC. Craig Middle School and Craig Street in Indianapolis were named in honor of her father and her uncle.

Phyllis is survived by her husband Morris E. Hammonds; daughter Cherie (David) Reeves; son Anthony (Rebecca) Hammonds; grandchildren Brittany (Tyler Hutchenson) Reeves, Matthew Reeves, Grace, Drake and Kendall Hammonds; her twin sister Patricia Herald; as well as her nieces and a nephew.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at Seals Funeral Home, 122 W. Staat Street, Fortville, Indiana. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of service.  Burial will take place at Marion National Cemetery, Marion.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation 200 SE 1st Street Suite 800 Miami, FL 33131.  Online condolences may be shared at www.sealsfuneralhome.com.
