Rex O. Stovall, 86, of Indianapolis passed away Friday May 7, 2021 at Greenbriar Village surrounded by his family. He was born January 31, 1935 in Brookston, IN to the late George F. & Stella (Hooper) Stovall
Rex was a 1954 graduate of Brookston High School and attended Indiana University. Rex was a member of the local VFW, Moose Lodge and American Legion. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He married the love of his life, Myrna (Kuchera) Stovall on December 15, 1961. He was a fan of the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears and Indianapolis Colts. He enjoyed reading books, Elvis Presley’s music and walking on the beach. He was known for “The Sunday Drive” he would take with his wife before her passing to new restaurants near and far to try them out and give the thumbs up or down. He was a “Big Kid” and loved taking his grandkids on trips and spending time with his family whom he loved dearly.
Rex is survived by his daughters: Cathy Widner French and Amy Widner Allen: 7 grandchildren & 8 great-grandchildren
He was preceded in passing by his parents listed above, his wife Myrna and siblings: Roscoe, Joe and Bill Stovall and Lucy Bosley and Matilda Stovall,
A celebration of Rex’s life will take place on Thursday May 13, 2021 at 12:00pm at Seals Funeral Home, Fortville. Friends may call on Thursday May 13, 2021 from 10:00am until the time of service. Burial will take place at Brookston Cemetery, Brookston, IN at a later date.
