Richard Morris Obituary

Richard S. Morris, 71, of New Palestine, passed away Sunday, October 8, 2023, at his home. He was born July 29, 1952, in Crawfordsville, Indiana to Robert and Sue (Furman) Morris.

Richard was an avid collector of Nylint model trucks. He loved his Harley-Davison and had been a member of a HOG chapter. Richard loved his collector cars, traveling to the Florida Keys and had an extremely close bond with his son’s dog Benny.

Richard attended Purdue University, was a member U.S. Air Force veteran and a member of the UAW Local 1111. He retired as an electrician for Ford Motor Company after 22 ½ years’ service.

Richard is survived by son Justin (Karen) Morris of Greenfield, grandchildren: Gabriel, Malachi and Judah Morris, step-grandchildren: Steven and Kristan Bowman, bonus grandchildren Arleht Castro-Mejia, Cheyenne Wray, Brittany Wray and Timothy Wray, many great grandchildren, siblings Kathy (Dennis) Wagner, Michele (Dennis) Perry, Mark Morris, Mike (Janet) Morris as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by daughter Cara Lynn Morris, his parents, siblings Marcia Mixon, Cindy Demoret and Lisa Morris.  _

In keeping with Richard’s wishes a simple cremation will take place. Memorial contributions in Richard’s name may be made to Disabled American Veterans (DAV) at www.dav.org  Services have been entrusted to Seals Funeral Home, Fortville. Online condolences may be shared at www.sealsfuneralhome.com.
