Richard L. "Dick" Fox

Richard L. “Dick” Fox, 77, of McCordsville, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2024. He was born October 7, 1946, in Holt, Michigan to Ferd and Frances (Bartos) Fox. Dick was the owner and operator of Champion Racing Engines in McCordsville for over 50 years. Drag racing was Dick’s passion. He was a multi-time national winner of the IHRA Quickrod Class and was the 1987 World Champion Runner-up IHRA Quickrod Class. Dick had also attended St. Thomas Catholic Church in Fortville.

Dick is survived by sons: Stephen J. Fox of Lake in the Hills, IL and DJ (Rachel) of Pittsboro, IN, grandchildren Andrew, Haley, Jaxson and Landon Fox, sister Beverly Warren of Michigan and brother Robert Fox of Michigan.  He was preceded in death by his wife Denise Fox in 2016, his parents and daughter-in-law Eva Fox.

A funeral to celebrate Dick’s life will be held at 6:00 pm on Monday, August 19, 2024, at Seals Funeral Home, Fortville. Friends may call on Monday from 4:00 pm until the time of service. Cremation will follow the funeral service. Online condolences may be shared at www.sealsfuneralhome.com.
