Rick Arnett, 71, of Ellenton, FL passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 3rd (the same day his father passed away 19 years ago) He was born on September 10, 1953, to Herschell and Shirley (Lummis) Arnett. He was a 1973 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School. He moved to Florida in January 1980 and started his career at Kash -n- Karry Supermarket, which later became Winn-Dixie. He also worked part-time at Mikasa Crystal and China store at the nearby outlet mall. Rick did lawn service for many of the mobile homes in Terra Siesta Mobile Home Park where he lived. After his retirement in August 2023, he enjoyed participating in the Golf Cart Club, the Bocce Ball Club and various card games with friends.

Rick is survived by mother Shirley Arnett, sister Debbie (Craig) Black, brothers Jaime (Carol) Arnett, Jeff Arnett and Todd Arnett, 7 nieces and nephews and 10 great-nieces and nephews as well as several cousins. He was preceded in death by his father Herschell, grandparents Eddie and Ruth Lummis and Uva and Ellis Arnett, aunts and uncles Erline and Bob Baker and Owen and Joe Arnett.

A memorial service to honor Rick will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at the Gravel Lawn Cemetery Chapel 9088 W 1025 South Fortville, IN 46040. Friends may call at the chapel on Saturday from 11:00 am until the time of service. Burial will take place at his father’s resting place in the cemetery.  In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Gravel Lawn Cemetery Chapel Maintenance Fund P.O.
