Robert “Bob” Blakey, 84, of Ingalls, passed away Thursday, December 17, 2020 at his residence.  He was born October 11, 1936 in Dubois County, Indiana to the late Robert Blakey Sr and Emily Susan (Green) Blakey. 

Robert married the love of his life Cheryl (New) on July 1, 1978 and spent 39 years together until her passing in 2018. Robert worked for Edgecomb Metal as a teamster truckdriver for many years until his retirement in the late 1990’s. Robert enjoyed guns, tinkering in his garage and loved car shopping, especially for trucks. He loved his time spent talking with friends during the mornings at the Broadway Dinner. But more than anything he loved spending time with his family whom he loved dearly.

He is survived by his sons John (Jennifer) New and Jesse Blakey; grandchildren: Emily and Jordon New and several friends.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife Cheryl and parents listed above.

A celebration of Robert’s life will take place at a later date.
