Ronald Strough

Ronald E. “Ronnie” Strough 74, of McCordsville passed away on Saturday September 28, 2024, at Community Heart and Vascular Hospital in Indianapolis.  Ronnie was born on September 5, 1950, in Anderson, Indiana to Merril “Doc” Strough and Jean Alice (Hunter) Strough. 

Ronnie was a 1968 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School and an Army veteran.  He retired after 38 years from the Chrysler Corporation where he was an iron pourer supervisor for engine blocks.  He was a member of the Fortville VFW Post #6904, UAW Auto Workers union, fishing and wildlife organization, and a gun activist. 

Ronnie enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.  Ronnie loved doing everything with his high school sweetheart Terre, spending time with his kids and grandkids, dogs and grand dogs.  He was one of the “good guys”.  If he was your friend, it was more precious than diamonds, because he only knew how to be the best there was. 

Ronnie is survived by his wife Terre (Sturges) Strough, whom he married on September 17, 1972; children Douglas Strough and Jennifer Gleich; grandchildren Andrew Gleich and Shelby Gleich; siblings Dick (Gwen) Strough and Rita Doty; niece and nephew Kendra and Kyle Doty, as well as several other nieces and nephews, friends and extended family.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister Rebecca Strough. 

Funeral services for Ronnie will be held on Thursday October 3, 2024,  beginning at 2:00pm at Seals Funeral Home, Fortville.  Visitation will be held from 11:00am until the time of the service.  Burial will follow at Gravel Lawn Cemetery, Fortville.  Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.sealsfuneralhome.com  .
