Stephen “Spike” Pritchard, 71, of Indianapolis, passed away Thursday, October 15, 2020. He was born May 3, 1949 in Indianapolis to the late Robert C. & Louise (Wilson) Pritchard.
Spike was a 1967 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School and attended Vincennes University and Indiana State University. He married the love of his life, Brenda Stum on June 6, 1987. Spike retired as an Account Executive from Daseke Insurance Agency later known as USI in June 2019 after 43 years of service. Stephen was passionate about Indy Car Racing and went to about 60 Indianapolis 500’s. Spike enjoyed watching basketball and especially following the Indiana Pacers, where he held season tickets for many years. He loved music and earlier in life was known for the Ox Roast parties he and others would throw. Spike was known for being a devoted and loyal husband, friend & employee. He loved his pets and treated them like children.
Left to cherish Stephen’s memory are his wife, Brenda (Stum) Pritchard; sister: Judi Pritchard; niece’s: Dreya, Katie Pritchard, Lorri (Patrick Ryan) Stum and Amber Patterson; nephews: JR Stum, Zachary (Lexi) Patterson &Cameron Patterson; brother-in-law: Greg Stum as well as several great-nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Spike is preceded in death by his parents, Robert & Louise and brother-in-law Jim Stum and sister-in-law Leighann Patterson
A service to celebrate Stephen’s life will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, October 23, 2020 at Seals Funeral Home in Fortville. Friends may call on the day of the service, October 23, 2020 at the funeral home from 11:00 am until the time of service. As a reminder, due to the governor’s order masks are required in public indoor spaces and please practice social distancing.
