Veldon Oliver Obituary

Veldon E. Oliver, 98, of Greenfield, passed away Monday, October 29, 2018 in Greenfield, IN.  He was born March 15, 1920 in Scottsville, Ky to the late Bradford and Lola (Smith) Oliver.  Veldon attended Scottsville High School and Mt. Victory High School, both of which are in Allen County, KY.  He was a World War II U.S. Army Veteran, a member of the General Baptist Church in Allen Co., KY, F & AM Blue Lodge No. 126 in Indianapolis, Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis and the Murat Shrine. Veldon retired from Chevrolet Commercial Body in 1980 but continued working and became a very successful car salesman.

Veldon is survived by niece Michelle (Greg) Anderson; nephews: Weldon (Sheryl) Helstrom, Marc (Tammy) Lawrence and Matthew (Delores) Lawrence, companion of 22 years Arletta Bowman. He was preceded in death by his wife Jualita (Devine) Oliver, brother: Weldon Oliver and sisters: Leopha Hearn, Betty House and Patty Lawrence and nephew Monte Lawrence.

Friends may call on Thursday, November 1, 2018 from 4 to 8 pm at Seals Funeral Home, Fortville and on Friday, November 2, 2018 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm (CT) at Goad Funeral Home 215 West Main Street Scottsville, KY 42164.  The funeral will be held at 2:00 pm with David Woods of Park Chapel Christian Church officiating. Burial will follow at Crescent Hill Cemetery, Scottsville, KY. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Park Chapel Christian Church 1176 E. McKenzie Rd Greenfield, IN or the Hancock County Shrine Club.  Online condolences may be shared at www.sealsfuneralhome.com.
