LTC Vernon P. “Bo” Sigo, USAF, Ret, 99, of Cape Coral, Florida and formerly of Fortville, passed away August 30, 2023. He was born May 19, 1924, in Remington, IN to Homer and Theresa (Wagner) Sigo.
Bo graduated from Gilboa High School in Remington, IN in 1942 and Indiana University in 1948. He was a member of the American Legion and St. Thomas Catholic Church in Fortville.
Bo was a World War II veteran who served in the United States Army Air Corp 49th Bomb Squadron, 2nd Bomb Group in Italy. Bo retired as a LTC from the U.S. Air Force Reserves in 1972. He also worked as a financial analyst for General Motors, retiring in 1986.
Bo is survived by children: Paula Freund of Cape Coral, FL, James (Sherry) Sigo of Carmel, Jayne Ramos of Florence, KY; 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Anne K Sigo and by his second wife, Evelyn Sigo, daughter Marla Sigo, brother Charles Sigo and sister Marie Dexter.
Friends may call from 4:00 to 6:30 pm on Friday, September 8, 2023, at Seals Funeral Home, Fortville with a Rosary service beginning at 6:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Fortville. Burial will follow at Gravel Lawn Cemetery, Fortville. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to DAV-Disabled American Veterans P.O.
