Wesley T. “Wes” Monday, 64, of Fortville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, in Pendleton, with his wife by his side.
Born to Arthur and Carol (Taylor) Monday, Wes was a 1979 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School. He built a career defined by leadership, dedication, and service to others. Wes began his career in security at Community Hospitals in Indianapolis before joining Raytheon, where he earned the position of Security Supervisor and served for more than a decade. He later continued in supervisory roles with SCIS before finishing his career as a Quality Inspector at Awning Innovations, where he worked for the past five years.
Wes was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. He married the love of his life, Susan (Harrison) Monday, on June 14, 1980, and together they shared 46 wonderful years of marriage, building a life and family that became the center of his world.
A member of the Free and Accepted Masons, Wes found his greatest joy in spending time with those he loved. He treasured coaching football for his sons, Matthew and Chad, and later enjoyed cheering on Notre Dame football alongside them, creating memories that became lifelong traditions. He also loved fishing with his grandchildren, spending countless hours in the workshop creating woodworking projects with his sons that they would remember for years to come, and he was famously competitive at cornhole—rarely missing a chance to play and often beating just about everyone who stepped up to the boards.
Known for his willingness to help anyone, Wes never shied away from a challenge. If he didn’t know how to fix something, he would teach himself, researching and refusing to give up until he found a solution. His curiosity, determination, and generous spirit made him the person family and friends could always count on.
Above all, Wes will be remembered for the quiet ways he showed his love—through his time, his guidance, his steady presence, and the countless moments he spent making memories with his family. His legacy lives on in the lessons he taught, the traditions he started, and the love he gave so freely.
Wes is survived by his beloved wife, Susan (Harrison) Monday, whom he married on June 14, 1980; his sons, Matthew T. Monday and Chad (KriSondra) Monday, both of Greenfield; his cherished grandchildren, Audri, Darryl, and Mira; his mother, Carol Monday of Carmel; and his sisters, Sharon Monday of Indianapolis and Karen Wilson of Knightstown. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Monday.
A simple cremation will take place, and a celebration of Wes’s life will be held at the convenience of the family.
